Much like how the ATM network revolutionized the banking industry, Clearwave is changing the healthcare industry through the creation of a healthcare network and a single patient identifier that allows accurate patient data to be shared regardless of what provider a patient visits. 

Through various points of reference (at check-in through a Clearwave kiosk, through the integration with a provider's PMS or HIS system and a proprietary system), Clearwave receives patient data and cross references it to create a single identifier for a patient to ensure that the most accurate and up-to-date patient data is used when verifying plan benefits and submitting claims. Once the patient's identity is authenticated, Clearwave then securely shares the patient data through its network that connects disparate healthcare entities and back-end systems to help keep the entities in synch while also enhancing the continuity of care.

Clearwave's mission has been, and remains, to standardize and automate administrative and patient-facing services that providers manage to serve patients, comply with federal/state regulations and maximize revenue cycles. Clearwave accomplishes this by aligning and organization's existing systems to communicate and gather information more effectively.

Through its patient information exchange software, kiosk and service-based solutions, Clearwave enables physicians, provider networks, hospitals, labs/clinics and specialty practices to benefit from a positive return on investment and more efficient processes that improve the patient experience. 

To date, Clearwave has focused on managing patient information to perform real-time eligibility verification at the time-of-schedule, check-in and before claim submittal while also sharing  demographic, insurance and patient payment information in a standardized format with existing PMS/HIS systems.  This ultimately allows providers to utilize patient information to submit cleaner claims, get reimbursed faster and improve patient services.

Moving forward, the Clearwave patient information exchange software will address real-time electronic medical record (EMR) to personal health record (PHR) transactions to meet emerging EMR Meaningful Use requirements.
